Accreditation

The Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA) is the Accrediting Commission for Catholic schools in the Diocese of San Diego. As the latest addition to the system of Catholic schools in the Diocese of San Diego, St. Gregory the Great Catholic School is described by WCEA as, "a school in good standing and is a candidate for official accreditation." As we work toward a full contingency of grades, culminating with the addition of eighth grade in 2013, the school administration, faculty, staff, student and parent community are committed to working steadily toward the realization of our goal of accreditation, which is an ongoing work in process.

Curriculum

Our Curriculum Brochures are grade specific and provide an overiew of the core curriculum.

The school curriculum incorporates all learning experiences: spiritual, cognitive, emotional, and kinesthetic. The curriculum is aligned with the California Content Standards, Diocesan Curriculum Course Content Guidelines, and the school philosophy.

Along with the six core subjects ( Religion, Reading, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science), Fine Arts (Music, Art) and Physical Education will be a focus of curriculum.

Ethical use of technology will be integrated throughout the curriculum to support and enhance student learning. Integrating technology across the curriculum allows our students to apply computer skills to the writing process, develop and refine keyboarding skills, and offer instant feedback on their learning.
